Free Browser MMOs for 2014

06-04-2014 (Wed), 00:00

This is a list of free browser MMOs for 2014.

Browser technology these days is insane.  You wouldn't believe the types of games we're able to play on our computers without downloading anything!  With more and more game companies focusing on the browser, it's about time we check out some of the best browser games that you should be playing.

Today I have a great list of the ten best browser MMO games to play in 2014.  So let's get this show on the road!

10. Ikariam

We start with Ikariam, a quaint little browser based strategy MMO where you are in charge of building an ancient civilization in ancient Greek times. The game is centered around an island system where you battle for islands and create a civilization to rival the best in the land. Fun to play in spurts, but not a game-changer.

9. OGame

OGame is a space-themed money management styled city builder. OGame has been around FOREVER! It's considered a pioneer in this genre and it's been online since 2000. Plenty of people still play this game because of its depth and the number of additions that the team still continues to bring to the game.

8. Vampires vs. Werewolves

Vampires vs. Werewolves comes to you from Kabam Games, and it's a browser game that's set in the 14th century in the aftermath of the Black Death. If city-resource and strategy management games are your thing, then you might enjoy the historical story that the game brings, even if there's nothing genuinely new or ground-breaking about this one.

7. Wartune

Wartune is a self-described MMORPG, but i'd be hard-pressed to call it that right off the bat. But this game does bring a mix of different genres together, and makes for an interesting browser based play.

6. Angel Alliance

This fantasy browser game jumps you right into the action off the bat. Tasked to protect the Angel, Nocturna, you will commence battle right away. Only two playable classes is a bit low, but with plenty of quests, levels, gear and gold, you'll find something to love.

5. Stronghold Kingdoms

Stronghold Kingdoms has been around the block a few times. But that just means it's tried and true, and one of the most recognizable city-builder, city-management games out there. If you've not tried out Stronghold, then maybe you're in for a treat!

Forge of Empires is a classic city-builder / management game that many will recognize, because it's one of the pioneers of the genre. The coolest part of FoE is that you bring your civilization through time, expanding both your city and your knowledge.

2. League of Angels

League of Angels has gotten some flack lately for its flashy ads, showing off half-naked ladies that have nothing to do with how the game is played. Or do they? I guess you'll have to try the game out for yourself to see!
